ONYX Data & Intelligence Inc. ("ONYX", "we") operates the ONYX Terminal, a Nigerian economic and sectoral intelligence platform. This policy explains what personal information we handle and why. Questions: hello@onyxdata.io.
Account and professional-profile information — when you create or complete an account, we collect your name and work email and may collect your phone number, job title, professional role, organisation and organisation type, sector, base country, operating markets, timezone, primary use case and current decision focus. ONYX stores that professional profile in its application database. Authentication is handled separately by Clerk; we do not store your password.
Usage information — we collect standard technical and analytics data (pages viewed and device/browser type) to operate and improve the service. For the Decision Screen funnel, we link page-view, form-start, and submission events with a random session-scoped identifier and the referring site origin. We do not store the full referring URL, set an analytics cookie for this measurement, or build an advertising profile.
Communications — if you email us or fill in a form, we keep that correspondence.
Decision Screen requests — when you ask ONYX to assess a commissioned decision engagement, we collect your name, work email, organisation, role, decision question, timing, and any context you choose to provide.
Operator Pulse — the public Operator Pulse records your selected operating-role and business-condition answers plus a random identifier stored in your browser to prevent duplicate responses. It does not ask for your name, company, phone number, revenue, or exact location.
Founding-user requests — after seeing the Pulse benchmark, you may separately choose to provide an email address for a short product onboarding. That address is stored separately from Pulse answers and is not used to identify or enrich your survey response.
To provide and secure the Terminal, authenticate you, respond to enquiries, assess and scope Decision Screen requests, understand usage, build aggregate Operator Pulse benchmarks, and send service or product updates you have asked for. We do not sell your personal information or identifiable Pulse responses.
We rely on a small number of processors to run the service: Clerk (authentication), Vercel (hosting/CDN), and Turso/libSQL (database). These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms.
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management, and minimal analytics. We do not use advertising cookies.
We keep account data for as long as your account is active and as needed for legitimate business or legal purposes. Decision Screen requests and related correspondence are retained while the opportunity is active and for up to 24 months after the last substantive contact, unless a contract or legal obligation requires longer retention. Pseudonymous Pulse responses are retained for up to 24 months for comparison and methodology review; aggregate statistics may be retained as a permanent research record. Founding-user contact details are retained until follow-up is complete, you opt out, or 12 months after the last substantive contact. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing hello@onyxdata.io.
The economic and sectoral data published in the Terminal is drawn from Nigerian public institutions and international sources (e.g. CBN, NBS, NUPRC, IMF, World Bank) and is not personal information.
